Tin is a ductile, malleable, silvery-white metal that has a low
melting point. It is non-toxic, resistant to corrosion and easy to
recycle. Its unique properties result in the metal being used in a
wide range of applications with the main use being solders and
tinplate.
Tin is produced as a by-product of tantalum mining at our Wodgina
and Greenbushes mines. We are
one of only two tin producers in Australia and our Greenbushes tin
smelter is the only one in Western Australia. It produces tin metal
cast into 17.5kg ingots for sale in Australia and
internationally.
